The answers is, ‘No.’

There are two reasons why you shouldn’t be concerned about what others think of you?

  1. You’re your thoughts.

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.” – Buddha.

You’re a creation of your thoughts. You’re shaped into either joy or sadness by the quality of your thoughts.

When you dwell on negative thoughts, you attract fear, anxiety and sadness. When you focus your mind on positive thoughts, joy flows into your mind like a shadow that never leaves.

You must also know that you can change the trajectory of your life by changing your thoughts. You can dissolve a negative aura about you by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones.

Willie Nelson put it this way. “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.”

2. Others seldom think of you.

Human beings are self-centered and are addicted to their thoughts. They’re often preoccupied with their needs and wants and, spare little or no time to think of others.

David Foster Wallace captured it perfectly, “You will become way less concerned with what other people think of you when you realize how seldom they do.”

Now that you know this, shouldn’t you be less concerned about what others think of you?

You should because people hardly think of you. And what others think of you, doesn’t create joy and a great life for you.
Only your thoughts create your life and shape it. So you should be concerned about what you think of you.
