It’s not our job to remain whole,
it’s nature’s job to do
we can’t tie time in bags and store it up,
but we can invest time in profitable ventures;

So our job is to lose leaves of fear
we inherit from learning to live
by human weakness taught to us all
as the only way to survive in this world;
Our job after losing leaves of pain,
is to be born again
and draw up from the great roots,
the consciousness to live eternally whole.

“It is not our job to remain whole.
We came to lose our leaves
Like the trees, and be born again,
Drawing up from the great roots.” – Robert Bly.
