When You Are Old By William Butler Yeats- But Before Then…

“When you are old and grey and full of sleep,

And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read,

and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once,

and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your
moments of glad grace,”…

But before you get old,

one thing you must certainly do,

to stop you from spending your old age in tears and regret;

to stop you from wishing you were young again,

take your chances now and create big events,

forget about bad luck and evil omen,

take those risks, you may just hit it big,

live in moments of happiness
and save those memories,

when you get old, you will have a big need for a good company,

you will need beautiful memories to keep you happy,

when…”bending down beside the glowing bars,

Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the
mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.”
